Does anyone think that the world will have more than 9 billion in 2050?

Tuesday, September 13th, 2011

The average number of children a woman gives to birth to worldwide is around 2.7 kids. We currently have 6.8 billion and will reach 7 billion around 2012, 13 years later than when our 6 billionth was reached. According to the U.N., they project we’ll have population of 9.2 billion by 2050 and then stable afterwards. The fertility rate in 2050 is projected to be around 2.05 kids per women. That’s a slow decline in the birth rate in over 40 years. We have young population worldwide, with more than half of the population under 25, they will soon get married and have children themseleves. Our population will keep rising quickly as the large young population has children and then their kids have children.

Until recently, the US had below replacement fertility for 35 years, we had more births than deaths during that all time. Even in the 1970s, when women were only giving birth to 1.7 kids on average, we still had 3 million births over 1.5 million deaths. And look at China, even though, most couples there are only allowed one child per, their population is still growing at a rate of 8 million yearly, China’s had a low birth rate for over 30 years and their population is still rising rapidly.

So I think the world will keep growing after 2050 and I think the world will have around 11 billion people in 2050 and 14 billion in 2100, with rises in life expectancy, not as many people will be dying so much.

PCOS cycles… anyone else experience this? ?

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011

Ever since I first started menstrating 13 years ago, I’ve had irregular cycles.

Although, often, I would notice I would go through almost yearly cycles.

Sometimes my cycles would start up, and I would have normal 35 day cycles for close to a year, and then suddenly it would stop.

After suffering from an ectopic pregnancy ( fiance and I weren’t trying then, but it was at the end of one of my “regular” phases) having a baby became something we both really, really wanted.

Of course after the ectopic, my cycle was all fudged up again. I had a period, three months after my surgery- and then didn’t have another normal cycle for one whole year.

Bad timing- my appointment with a fertility specialist actually ended up being the day after my cycle ended- and was sent home with instructions to take provera in 40 days if a regular cycle didn’t resume and then take the clomid.

I ended up having to do so, since I didn’t start my period on my own… and ended up having to do it the following cycle, as I didn’t ovulate with 50 mg of clomid.

After three successful ovulatory cycles on clomid, but with no pregnancy achieved, I decided I needed to take a break… emotionally, physically and mentally.

I decided to still chart- just to see what was going on with my body after the treatment.

Ended up ovulating on my own again this month.

So, curious, has anyone else ovulated on their own after quitting clomid? Any other PCOS ladies out there who also have off and on normal cycles?

Do you think my body will continue to ovulate on its own now?

Has anyone got pregnant off evening primrose oil or vitex??

If so how long did you take it before you got pregnant and which one did you take. I’m really wanting to get pregnant but my hormones are all out of wack and I was looking into taking natural fertility enhancers that also help with your period. So if you could tell me what you took and for how long that would be great, also if its clomid or metaphormin. I’m not interested, thank-you though. and thank-you to all who answer this question. Please reply.

Is there anyone out there who has had their first baby after 35 and can answer some questions and concerns?

Tuesday, December 14th, 2010

I’m 34 and I don’t feel now is a good time to become pregnant. I’ve been dating the same guy for over 7 years but we’ve been living apart lately and have been having problems. We are both financially unstable. I have some personal issues that I need to work on before considering pregnancy. I am adopted and I really want a part of me, does that make sense? I know no one w/ the same genes or that has my hair, my nose, my laugh, you get the picture. I’ve been told that I may have endometrosis but I can’t do anything about it because of the cost. I know if I wait much longer that I will have to have fertility treatment which is so costly and I can’t afford it. Is it possible to have your first child at 40? I feel in 5 years that I may be ready. Or should I just try to get pregnant now? I really need advice. My Mom said if I got pregnant that she wouldn’t help but I KNOW she would but it’s not fair since she’s 67 and already helping me!

Fertility Friend is really annoying me, anyone else feel this way?

Thursday, November 4th, 2010

I am using fertility friend for charting and their buddy groups. Lately, a couple of us have had posts censored for ridiculous reasons. We have been trying to follow all their stupid rules, but now that I think about it, it bothers me that we are meeting people and discussing the most intimate details of our lives, but we are absolutely unable to share email addresses or any way to contact each other other than through their site. I enjoy the support of meeting people, but feel I can only make temporary friends there since once I stop paying for my membership I will be unable to contact these people again. Am I being totally unreasonable here?

Anyone else ttc have a 40+ day cycle?

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

I have been TTC for over a year now and the length between my period is 40-50 days. I feel my chances of conceiving are reduced. None of the tests ovulation works well because it is for women with cycles of 28 days. Even became clear blue test to monitor fertility easy not left me after 24 days … So it was a total waste. I think taking Clomid, because I have no idea if I’m ovulating. Any advice. Oh, and everyone I know is Preggo … I’m happy for them, but it makes it harder for me to face my fertility problems.

Has anyone used Herbal supplements to treat infertility and end up pregnant?

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

I want to know if someone has already taken the herbs (without prescription) and was able to switch to conceive. If yes, what kind of herbs are tried and for how long? I read about different herbs such as Maca, which is supposed to regulate the hormones women naturally. *** My experience that I’m 28, I have no children, I was diagnosed with the syndrome, which produce enough estrogen and progesterone, and tried to conceive for a some time without success. I intend to take out insurance at my job in May during open enroll for me to take a fertility drug, but I hope that maybe if I try the herbal route that I can work and can finally be mamá.Gracias advance, Melissa

Anyone naturally conceive their first after age 30?

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

I just read an article on the myths of infertility and one of the “myth” was that women are fertile until the age of 40 years. The “truth” is that fertility begins to decline at age 30, after more radical than 35 years, and his descent from there all. I’m 31 and have been TTC for almost five years. I have seen doctors, had all the tests, etc., and now I have a problem with my man on. Anyone know if I first conceived naturally after 30 years? I still have some hope I still had some years left before time to leave.
